I like shampoo. I look forward to my shampoo days. And they're only 2 days apart!
Last week I showered every day, but just wet my hair rather than lathering up on Tuesday and Thursday. This week I went one step further and not showered on my off days. I didn't work out on those days, so I wasn't totally gross!
Everything I've read tells me that this is just a transition period, and that eventually my scalp will stop creating as much oil as it is now. And that it can take any where from 6 to 12 weeks!
I am determined to make it through for a few reasons:
- my hair ends are very dry. Since I would like to grow it, not drying it out with chemicals every day can`t be bad
- reduce water consumption and waste from shampoo and conditioner bottles
- eventually get to alternatives, such as solid shampoo bars or baking soda and green tea rinses
Question:
How often do you wash your hair?
everyone day I shower....sometimes I go longer through runs and everything. I always do a quick "body wash" after exercise though when I just jump in the shower, lather up, rinse and jump out....great if I'm in a rush. I use baby powder in my hair (b/c I had some from the baby shower) I've read that it works like a dry shampoo and it's awesome - warning: don't use a lot or your hair will look grey :P lol
ReplyDeleteyour hair will adjust and it won't get a greasy :D
Not sure if I could handle every other day. My hair just doesn't style right if I don't. Good for you Lynz. You are a good steward of this planet.
ReplyDeletelol - the grey hair Ali. Are you speaking from experience? Guess I'm not the only old grey Mare.
